Baseball Game Preview: Marlboro Academy Dragons vs. Dillon Christian Warriors

The Marlboro Academy Dragons will venture away from home to take on the Dillon Christian Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Marlboro Academy has given up an average of 8.6 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Marlboro Academy came up short against Pee Dee Academy back in March, falling 12-2. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Dillon Christian fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Pee Dee Academy on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 11-8 to the Golden Eagles. On the bright side, the eight- run effort marked the Warriors' highest-scoring game to date.

Jordan Blackmon was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Jackson Shooter also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Marlboro Academy now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Dillon Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Everything went Marlboro Academy's way against Dillon Christian in their previous matchup back in March, as Marlboro Academy made off with an 18-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
