Watertown is a perfect 3-0 against Creek Wood since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Purple Tigers will look to defend their home field against the Red Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Watertown barely beat Gordonsville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Purple Tigers put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 16-3 victory on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Purple Tigers considering their two-run performance the game before.

Shaun Potter was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Noah Murphy, who went 1-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Luke Vance, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs.
Meanwhile, Creek Wood made easy work of West Creek on Thursday and carried off a 12-2 win.
Hunter Bennett looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Ej Larkin was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Boone Harris, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Creek Wood has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Watertown, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-3.
