Basketball Recap: Berkner Takes a Loss

Berkner extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-16. They were beaten by the Little Elm Lobos 82-47. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 732nd, while the Lobos are ranked second).

As for Little Elm, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-2. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Joshua Weems produced another solid effort putting up 15 points and seven rebounds. The contest was his third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Brickley, who went 5-for-10 en route to 14 points and three steals.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berkner will square off against Lake Highlands at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 53.35 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Little Elm, they will challenge Hebron at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lobos will be up against the Hawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 58.32 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
