League recap: Sub-par week lands Hersey outside of Illinois' top 25

Mid-Suburban - East league recap: 5/29/12

With a rough week, Hersey dropped out of the state's top 25 rankings. Hersey fell from No. 21 to No. 30 after going 0-1 over the past week. The Huskies are ranked No. 655 in the nation, and have an overall record of 23-8.

Prospect went from 1983 to 1784 in the national rankings since last week after going 1-1 in the past seven days. The Knights are currently sitting at No. 90 in the state of Illinois, thanks to an overall record of 16-20.

Prospect's pitching staff was best in the league in terms of hits allowed, with just nine over the past week. The Knights have surrendered a mere 221 hits this season.

Prospect's Dan Kavanaugh finished his week with seven hits, tops in Mid-Suburban - East. He is sixth in the league with 36 hits this year, and has a .319 batting average.



Brad Gerdes drove in 11 runners as Prospect defeated Maine West 8-5 on Tuesday.
