Softball Recap: Oxford Prep Wins Going Away Against Voyager Academy

Oxford Prep never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against the Voyager Academy Vikings as they made off with a 10-0 win. Considering the Griffins have won four games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Oxford Prep got a great performance from Addyson Faucette as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Faucette has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Marleigh Swanner was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Mileena Webb was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Oxford Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Voyager Academy only posted a batting average of .118.

The victory made it two in a row for Oxford Prep and bumps their season record up to 9-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Voyager Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Oxford Prep beat the Vikings by a score of 3-2 later that day.
