Football Recap: Corey Murphy and Jace Coleman Pace Lugoff-Elgin Defense

Lugoff-Elgin lost against Camden back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Demons came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 35-14. The Demons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

Lugoff-Elgin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Corey Murphy and Jace Coleman. Coleman has been hot recently, having also posted seven or more total tackles the last three times he's played. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Lugoff-Elgin's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Camden, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Lugoff-Elgin will welcome Darlington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Camden, they are taking a road trip to face off against Hartsville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
