Football Game Preview: Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes vs. Stoneman Douglas Eagles

The Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes will venture away from home to square off against the Stoneman Douglas Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Pompano Beach has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with six straight losses, while Stoneman Douglas will come in with ten straight victories.

Pompano Beach's offense might be in the hot seat on Monday considering what happened against Pembroke Pines Charter on Tuesday. They lost 20-0 to the Jaguars.

Meanwhile, Stoneman Douglas put their dominant defense on display in the team's sixth consecutive shutout on Thursday. They blew past Coral Springs Charter 39-0. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Another thorn in Coral Springs Charter's side was Daria Boykin, who picked up two sacks, made five total tackles, and defended two passes.

Stoneman Douglas' win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 27.5 points thus far. As for Pompano Beach, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Pompano Beach came up short against Stoneman Douglas in their previous meeting back in March of 2022, falling 7-0. Can the Golden Tornadoes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
