Baseball Recap: Omaha Central Comes Up Short

After flying high against Omaha North on Wednesday, Omaha Central came back down to earth. The Eagles fell just short of the Papillion-LaVista Monarchs by a score of 5-4 on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled against the Monarchs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Omaha Central handed starting duties to Boe Di Lorenzo, who gave a strong showing despite the result: he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Silas Weber made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Another player making a difference was Oscar Yuhas, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Omaha Central's loss dropped their record down to 11-17. As for Papillion-LaVista, their victory bumped their record up to 13-11.
