Hampton and Stuart squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Hampton had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 41-6 loss at the hands of the Stuart Broncos. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Broncos recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the loss, Hampton still got an impressive performance from Jack Bullis, who rushed for 125 yards, and also picked up 54 receiving yards. Bullis' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 125 rushing yards.

Stuart got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kayde Ramm out in front who threw for 139 yards and five touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Ramm didn't just play on offense: he also picked up four sacks and made 11 total tackles. Another player making a difference was Benjamin Paxton, who gained 130 total yards and two touchdowns.

Hampton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Stuart, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Hampton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Stuart, they will take on Arthur County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Stuart knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Arthur County likes a good challenge.
