Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Schenectady). They came out on top against the Moriah Vikings by a score of 78-71 on Saturday.

When it comes to explaining why Moriah lost, don't look at Cooper Allen. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 33 points and 13 boards. The game was Allen's 13th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Joe Pelkey, who posted eight points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists.

Schenectady's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Moriah, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Schenectady will welcome Troy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Troy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Schenectady likes a good challenge. As for Moriah, they will face off against Northeastern Clinton at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Moriah is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.3 points per game this season.
