Baseball Game Preview: Carbondale Area Chargers vs. Forest City Foresters

For the first time this season, Carbondale Area will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will square off against the Forest City Foresters at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Carbondale Area is looking for their season's first win.

Carbondale Area is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They lost 10-3 to Holy Redeemer last Saturday.

Carbondale Area saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Waters, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Waters also got a hit, marking his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Forest City came up short against Montrose on Thursday, falling 10-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Foresters in their meetings with the Meteors: they've now lost seven in a row.

Carbondale Area's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Forest City, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Carbondale Area took their victory against Forest City in their previous meeting back in March of 2021 by a conclusive 6-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
