After flying high against Varsity Opponent last Wednesday, Whetstone came back down to earth. The Braves came up short against the Licking Heights Hornets on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The Braves' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

While Whetstone was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-17, 25-21.

Whetstone's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Licking Heights, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Whetstone will take on Chillicothe at 6:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for Licking Heights, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on New Albany at 7:00 p.m. on May 6.
