Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Mamadi Sanoh and Javon Motta Lead Trinity Christian to Victory

Trinity Christian won the last time they faced Oak City Prep and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Crusaders came out on top against the Bears by a score of 59-50. That's two games straight that the Crusaders have won by exactly nine points.

Trinity Christian was led to victory by JaVon Motta and Mamadi Sanoh. Motta shot 46% from the field on his way to 17 points, while Sanoh went 5-for-7 to rack up 12 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Baganley Donzo, who posted five points in addition to 11 rebounds and four blocks.

Oak City Prep's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amazin Dixon, who went 12-for-18 en route to 25 points and five boards. The matchup was Dixon's 24th in a row with at least 15 points. Tyieon Wilson was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.

Trinity Christian has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 52.0 points this season. As for Oak City Prep, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Coming up, Trinity Christian will challenge New Life Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oak City Prep, they will face off against Pender at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
