Softball Recap: Mckinney Drops Highest Score of Season Against Sherman

McKinney scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 20-17 to the Sherman Bearcats. The defeat leaves the Lions still looking for their first win of the season.

Leyla Lopez and Kady Huggins stepped up to the plate in a big way. Lopez scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2, while Huggins went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. The dominant performance gave Lopez a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Adyson Gaddis, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

McKinney's loss dropped their record down to 0-11-1. As for Sherman, their win bumped their record up to 2-6-1.

Coming up, McKinney will take on Midland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Midland will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something McKinney surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sherman, they will venture away from home to challenge McKinney Boyd at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Sherman will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
