Softball Recap: Yerington Extends Winning Streak to Six

Yerington came tearing into Saturday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the West Wendover Wolverines get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. Considering the Lions have won four matches by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Casey Bobrick made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

In other batting news, Aurora Brethauer was a standout: she scored three runs and stole four bases. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Laney Triplett, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Yerington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Wendover only managed one hit.

Yerington's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for West Wendover, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
