Greenfield-Central waltzed into their game on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Lawrence North Wildcats by a score of 8-3. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 4-3 victory the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2021.

Addie Heacox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on three hits.

At the plate, Greenfield-Central let Savvanna Riall and Charlotte Riehle run wild. Riall got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI, while Riehle went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Riall is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Kristen Wineinger was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Greenfield-Central's win bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Lawrence North, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-15.

Looking ahead, Greenfield-Central will take on East Central at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Lawrence North, they will challenge Lawrence Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
