Recap: Buckingham Charter Knights vs. Esparto Spartans
This season hasn't been kind to the Buckingham Charter Knights, who are still winless after their fifth match. They took a hard 51-36 fall against Esparto on Friday. Buckingham Charter lost against Esparto in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 48-44 score last time.
Antonio Seastrunk Jr. was his usual excellent self, scoring 32 points for Esparto. That makes it five consecutive games in which Seastrunk Jr. has scored at least 25% of Esparto's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andre Oliver , who scored 8 points.
Buckingham Charter bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Esparto, their win bumped their record up to 1-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Buckingham Charter will square off against Vacaville Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Esparto, they will head out on the road to face off against Pioneer at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Pioneer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday.
