Recap: Philip Scotties vs. Sully Buttes Chargers
If the Philip Scotties were feeling good off their 56-28 takedown of the Edgemont Moguls last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The game between Philip and Sully Buttes wasn't particularly close, with Philip falling 58-44. Philip has struggled against Sully Buttes recently, as their game on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Philip's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mattisen Reckling, who scored 11 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Fayth Martin, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Philip has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Sully Buttes, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Philip will square off against Hill City at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sully Buttes, they will head out on the road to face off against Highmore/Harrold at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Highmore/Harrold has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
