Wake Forest came out on top against Garner on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run sixth inning. The Cougars blew past the Trojans 11-0. Considering the Cougars have won 14 games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Trevor Friend tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Antonio Parrino was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kellen Rogers, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
The win (which was Wake Forest's third in a row) raised their record to 19-4. As for Garner, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-9.
As of now, neither Wake Forest nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
