Basketball Preview: Abundant Life Challengers vs. Heritage Christian Patriots
Abundant Life is on a eight-game streak of home wins, while the Patriots are on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Abundant Life Challengers will take on the Heritage Christian Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Abundant Life's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten matches.
Last Friday, Abundant Life beat the Demons 56-46.
Meanwhile, Heritage Christian can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Saturday. They blew past Messmer, posting a 106-62 victory at home. Given Heritage Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Bishops are ranked 397th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Heritage Christian had a senior duo take command as Mike Bowen Jr. dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds and Alex Trotter scored 26 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Trotter has scored all season. Adrian Moran was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six steals.
Abundant Life has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. As for Heritage Christian, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.
