Football Recap: Clovis West Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Clovis West and Clovis squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Clovis West had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Cougars and fell 48-7. The Golden Eagles haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Jamar (JJ) Howard threw for 131 yards and one touchdown. Andrew Garcia was his top target, picking up 45 receiving yards. On the ground, Jacob Higgins rushed for 31 yards.

Clovis got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was James Curoso out in front who rushed for 135 yards and a pair of scores, and also picked up 47 receiving yards and two TDs. Deagan Rose was another key signal caller, throwing for 294 yards and four touchdowns while completing 79.2% of his passes.

Clovis West's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Clovis, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Clovis West does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clovis, they are taking a road trip to square off against Central East at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Bengals have now posted at least 31 points in their last ten contests.
