Quitman hadn't done well against Eustace recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Quitman came out on top against Eustace by a score of 5-2. This was payback for Quitman, who suffered a 4-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Davis Watson made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Watson was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Colton Barkdull, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Quitman and bumps their season record up to 5-13-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Eustace, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12-1.

Quitman will have a chance to go back-to-back against Eustace: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
