The Montverde Academy Eagles will take on the Whitehaven Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Montverde Academy stacked an 18th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 84-55 victory over St. Rose on the road. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Montverde Academy had a senior duo take command as Cooper Flagg scored 28 points along with seven rebounds and five assists and Derik Queen dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. Flagg is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Wright III, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Memphis Central scored an imposing 62 points on Tuesday, Whitehaven still came out on top. Whitehaven took their match against Memphis Central 72-62.
Montverde Academy's win bumped their record up to 25-0. As for Whitehaven, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.
