Preview: Campbell Hall Vikings vs. Rio Hondo Prep Kares
The Campbell Hall Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Rio Hondo Prep Kares at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Campbell Hall is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
Campbell Hall fell victim to Brentwood School's stalwart defense two weeks ago and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Eagles 44-0. While losing is never fun, Campbell Hall can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 835th, while Brentwood School is ranked 233rd).
Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Rio Hondo Prep's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 34-13 defeat at the hands of Brentwood School. Rio Hondo Prep was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.
Nate Curtis put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.
The losses dropped Campbell Hall to 1-7 and Rio Hondo Prep to 8-1.
Campbell Hall came up short against Rio Hondo Prep in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 19-7. Thankfully for Campbell Hall, Ryan Mcculloch (who rushed for 191 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
