Basketball Recap: Tuscola Comes Up Short

Tuscola was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a blow against the Franklin Panthers, falling 80-29. The match marked the Mountaineers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Tuscola's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Abbey Earwood, who posted eight points, and Vesper Forbes, who earned six points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Tuscola smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Tuscola's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Franklin, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.

Tuscola wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 74-41 victory against Brevard on the 18th. As for Franklin, they will venture away from home to challenge Murphy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
