Soccer Game Preview: Chelsea vs. Spanish Fort

The Chelsea Hornets will face off against the Spanish Fort Toros at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Chelsea is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They never let Calera get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. The score was close at halftime, but Chelsea pulled away in the second half with two goals.

Meanwhile, Spanish Fort entered their tilt with Stanhope Elmore on Friday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They blew past the Mustangs 3-0. Give Spanish Fort's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Jake Bauer and Ethan Spuler scored all three of Spanish Fort's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 47 goals.

The victory (which was Chelsea's fifth in a row) raised their record to 20-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those five matchups. As for Spanish Fort, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-3-4.
