Morehead is 8-2 against McMichael since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Phoenix at 7:00 p.m. Morehead is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.

Morehead came out on top against Rockingham County on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Panthers walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Cougars.

The team relied heavily on Zachary Grogan, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Judson Friese, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Morehead kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rockingham County only managed seven.

McMichael came out on top against Surry Central on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Phoenix blew past the Golden Eagles 10-3. The result was nothing new for the Phoenix, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Morehead is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for McMichael, their record is now 15-4.

Morehead couldn't quite get it done against McMichael in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 as they fell 8-3. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
