Volleyball Recap: Winter Springs Victorious

Winter Springs lost to Lake Brantley back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. Winter Springs came out on top against Lake Brantley by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

While Winter Springs might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Lake Brantley scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 13-25, 25-19, 25-20.

Skyler Martinez paced Winter Springs' offense, picking up 20 kills. Martinez got some help from Zeke Register and his 33 assists. Finally, Alek Topalovic kept Winter Springs' defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Winter Springs now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Lake Brantley, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-2.

Winter Springs and Lake Brantley will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time Winter Springs sees the court they'll take on Seminole at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th. As for Lake Brantley, their break will end when they face Forest Lake Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th.
