Basketball Recap: Skipstone Academy Comes Up Short

Skipstone Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a hard 59-41 fall against St. George. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-38 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Skipstone Academy still got an impressive performance from Scooter Barkley, who posted 27 points. That was a full 65.9% of Skipstone Academy's points, marking the 12th time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points.

Skipstone Academy now has a losing record at 8-9. As for St. George's, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Skipstone Academy has already played their next matchup, a 66-47 victory against Lafayette Christian on the 3rd. As for St. George's, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-42 loss against Rock Springs Christian Academy on the 3rd.
