Suggested Video

The Guymon Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Hooker Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Guymon will be strutting in after a victory while Hooker will be coming in after a loss.

While Tigers fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Thursday's season opener. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Woodward 10-8.

Meanwhile, Hooker didn't have quite enough to beat Sunray on Friday and fell 30-28. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite their defeat, Hooker saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kleat Martens, who threw for 154 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 53 yards, was perhaps the best of all. 85 of those passing yards were hauled in by Keilan Robinson, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

Hooker's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Trace Duncan. He didn't just play on offense: he also made four total tackles and defended four passes in addition to snagging two interceptions. Another thorn in Sunray's side was Aydan Woolridge, who made 13 total tackles (3.0 for loss).
