Recap: Huntland Hornets vs. Wilson Central Wildcats
The Huntland Hornets fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Wilson Central by a score of 49-41 on Thursday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Huntland's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 304th, while Wilson Central is ranked 81st).
Despite the loss, Wilson Central saw an underclassman step up: Brylee Fly scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Fly hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Eliana Ramsey was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Huntland's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Wilson Central, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.
Huntland will be playing in front of their home fans against Fayetteville at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Wilson Central is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Trousdale County at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Trousdale County is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
