Baseball Recap: Richlands Takes a Loss

Richlands suffered their closest defeat since March 12th on Tuesday. They fell just short of the White Oak Vikings by a score of 6-4. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vikings earlier this season, when they won 7-2.

Richlands got a good showing from Devin Hurt, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

At the plate, Jaden Goins was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Hayden Turner also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Richlands has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for White Oak, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-9 record this season.

Richlands will welcome Northside - Jacksonville at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats are facing the Monarchs at the right time seeing as the Monarchs are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for White Oak, they will face off against Lejeune at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
