Baseball Recap: Pius X Triumphs

Pius X won the last time they faced Omaha Westside and things went their way on Friday too. The Thunderbolts walked away with a 5-1 win over the Warriors.

Pius X got a great performance from Henry Suelter as he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Suelter has become a key player for the Thunderbolts: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lucas Newton, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Kai Vanis, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Pius X's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Omaha Westside, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-11.

Pius X has already played their next match, a 13-2 defeat against Papillion-LaVista on the 26th. As for Omaha Westside, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-4 loss against Millard South on the 26th.
