Volleyball Recap: Capistrano Valley Christian's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Capistrano Valley Christian came into Tuesday's matchup having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Western Christian Fighting Lancers on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Capistrano Valley Christian had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-12, 25-19, 25-14.

Capistrano Valley Christian was led to victory by Joy Carney and Megan Keena. Carney had 29 digs, while Keena had nine digs and five assists. Carney has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Capistrano Valley Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. They served one more ace than Western Christian's also-impressive total of ten.

Despite the loss, Western Christian still got an impressive performance from Gwenyth Baumer, who had 19 digs and two aces.

Capistrano Valley Christian's record is now 7-15-1. As for Western Christian, their defeat ended a six-match streak of away wins and brought them to 19-4.
