Fruitport posted their closest win since October 19, 2024 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Spring Lake Lakers 2-1. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Lakers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Izabel Hanson-Wilbur paced Fruitport's offense, picking up eight kills. Hanson-Wilbur were helped by Emma Fecher and Alexa Sweet, who contributed eight assists each.

Fruitport's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Spring Lake, they now have a losing record of 1-2-2.

Fruitport has already played their next contest, a 1-1 tie against Coopersville on the 22nd. After both having extra time off, Spring Lake and Hamilton will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on the 4th. This will be the Lakers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
