Baseball Recap: Papillion-Lavista Beats Omaha South for Their Fourth Straight Win

Papillion-LaVista entered their tilt with Omaha South on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Packers with a sharp 11-1 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-0 back in April.

Papillion-LaVista got a great performance from Trevor Antoniak as he struck out nine batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the most strikeouts Antoniak has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Jaxson Povich was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Peters, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.

Papillion-LaVista kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Omaha South only managed one hit.

Papillion-LaVista's record is now 18-10. As for Omaha South, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-12.

Papillion-LaVista has already played their next game (against Millard West), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Omaha South, they will venture away from home to take on South Sioux City at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
