The biggest upset of the week belonged to Tahoma, who took down 107th ranked Tahoma, 42-7.
Auburn was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to third in 4A SPSL - North. The Trojans vanquished the Bears 42-7 earlier in the week.
Auburn Riverside's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kevin Thomsen threw for 83 yards and Gavin Hettinger had 27 yards receiving. On the ground Thomsen chipped in 64 yards. Michael Robinson helped Auburn Riverside's passing attack out by catching one ball for 23 yards.
Derek Hart made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Ravens fell to Kentlake. The junior grabbed 1.5 sacks.
Auburn Riverside's Thomsen and Adam Hanes have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Thomsen has thrown for 600 yards this season, while Hanes has 19 catches for 187 yards. Kent-Meridian's Quincy Carter leads the league in rushing yards with 315.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Auburn takes on the Falcons. Gordon Elliot's team is in third place, while Kentlake is in second place.
The Trojans moved up to 60 from 151 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 4A SPSL - North. A 42-7 win over Tahoma helped Auburn improve its standing.
