Basketball Recap: Tawas Area Takes a Loss

If Tawas Area was riding high fresh off their 48-25 takedown of Alcona last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tawas Area Braves came up short against the Au Gres-Sims Wolverines on Tuesday, falling 40-20. The Braves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wolverines earlier this season, when they won 36-30.

Au Gres-Sims' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lillie Maser, who went 6-for-8 to rack up 12 points and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Maser now owns an excellent 45.5% field goal percentage. Sophie Fox was another key player, putting up five points in addition to six boards and three blocks.

Tawas Area's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Au Gres-Sims, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-7.

Tawas Area has already played their next match, a 25-21 win against Rogers City on the 20th. Au Gres-Sims has also already played their next game (against Hillman), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
