            Softball Recap: Point Arena Pirates vs. Laytonville Warriors        
        
		
        
        
            After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Clear Lake, Point Arena was happy to have turned things around  on Thursday. They were the clear victor by  a  25-13 margin over the Laytonville Warriors. The Pirates' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.

 Hattie Piper was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with four  runs, two  stolen bases,  and five  RBI. The dominant performance gave  her a new career-high in  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Serina Azbill, who  went 4-for-5 with six  stolen bases, three  runs,  and four  RBI.
 Point Arena  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .674. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
Point Arena's victory  ended  a  five-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 2-4. As for Laytonville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Point Arena will head out to  face off against Tomales  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Laytonville, they are taking a road trip to  square off against Willits  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
