Sequoia Charter had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the Ajo Red Raiders with a sharp 13-2 victory on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Stallions, who have now won seven matchups in a row.

Naomi Sams made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

Sequoia Charter's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Ajo, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.

Looking ahead, Sequoia Charter will square off against Paradise Valley Christian Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Stallions will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. Ajo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
