Soccer Recap: Mt. Mansfield Takes a Loss

Mt. Mansfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Colchester Lakers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Mt. Mansfield came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Vermont soccer rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Colchester are ranked 40th).

Mt. Mansfield's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3-1. As for Colchester, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mt. Mansfield is set to square off against their familiar foe St. Johnsbury Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Colchester will challenge rival Burlington at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
