Baseball Game Preview: Milken Wildcats vs. de Toledo Jaguars

The Milken Wildcats will head out to take on the de Toledo Jaguars at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Thursday, Milken didn't have quite enough to beat Viewpoint and fell 2-1.

Jordan Liebman was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March.

On the hitting side, Milken saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Brown, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Luke Cohen also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for de Toledo, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They put the hurt on St. Genevieve with a sharp 8-0 win last Thursday. The Jaguars not only won last Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 18, 2024 (when they won 13-4).

Milken has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for de Toledo, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.

Milken couldn't quite finish off de Toledo in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
