Volleyball Recap: Riverwalk Academy Takes a Loss

Riverwalk Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Lamar Silver Foxes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Silver Foxes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

While Lamar got the win, Riverwalk Academy sure made them earn it: two sets took extra rallies. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-15, 27-25.

Cadence Ruppe paced Riverwalk Academy's offense, picking up six kills. Ruppe got some help from Kayla Silver and her 14 assists. Ruppe was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Riverwalk Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Lamar, their victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 5-7.

Riverwalk Academy has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against McBee on the 29th. As for Lamar, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Midlands STEM Charter on the 30th.
