Baseball Game Preview: Benedictine Cadets vs. Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks

The Benedictine Cadets will challenge the Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Benedictine lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Norfolk Academy, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's contest. The Cadets put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 15-5 victory on Saturday. The Cadets' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

Meanwhile, Miller School of Albemarle had already won 15 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it 16 on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Seahawks as they made off with a 10-1 win. Considering the Mavericks have won 13 matchups by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Miller School of Albemarle pushed their record up to 24-5 with the victory, which was their 28th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Benedictine, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-13-1 record.
