Baseball Recap: Dieterich Comes Up Short

Dieterich was the 12-11 winner over Robinson when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Dieterich Movin Maroons fell 8-5 to the Robinson Maroons on Tuesday.

Dom Ashley put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Ashley was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Ashley wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Hall, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Gavin Meinhart was another, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Dieterich's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dieterich will square off against Paris at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Robinson, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Carmi-White County at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
