Basketball Recap: Torrey Pines Falls to Mira Mesa in First Game of Season

Torrey Pines unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Mira Mesa Marauders on Wednesday, falling 86-60. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Falcons have suffered since December 28, 2024.

Despite the loss, Torrey Pines still got an impressive performance from Tevaris Green, who went 8-for-12 to rack up 22 points. Green is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Tyler Humphrey was another key player, putting up eight points and six boards.

Looking ahead, Torrey Pines will face off against El Camino at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mira Mesa, they will challenge San Marcos at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
