Basketball Recap: Waupaca Takes a Loss

Waupaca lost against Marinette back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Waupaca Comets lost 68-45 to the Marinette Marines. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while the Marines are ranked 140th).

Waupaca's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Marinette, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 15-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waupaca will head out to face off against Clintonville at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Waupaca is facing Clintonville at the right time seeing as Clintonville is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Marinette, they will head out on the road to challenge Oconto Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
