Softball Game Preview: Greenwood Christian Hawks vs. Wardlaw Academy Patriots

The Greenwood Christian Hawks will square off against the Wardlaw Academy Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Greenwood Christian came up short against Ware Shoals on Tuesday, falling 15-5. The Hawks have struggled against the Hornets recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Meanwhile, Wardlaw Academy narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Richard Winn Academy 9-8.

The team relied heavily on Kya McCormick ( SR), who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Hill (JR), who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Wardlaw Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Wardlaw Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Greenwood Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
