Softball Recap: Hopewell-Loudon Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hopewell-Loudon can now relate to. They came up short against the Calvert Senecas on Saturday, falling 8-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Chieftains in their meetings with the Senecas: they've now lost three in a row.

Hopewell-Loudon saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sidney Brickner, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Hopewell-Loudon's loss dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Calvert, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-4.

Hopewell-Loudon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Calvert, they will head out to face off against Columbian at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. The last four games the Tornadoes have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
