Hersey is 7-0-2 against Elk Grove since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Huskies will head out to face off against the Grenadiers at 6:45 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hersey barely beat Conant the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Huskies were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over the Cougars on Wednesday. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Hersey's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Conant are ranked 241st).

Hersey hit Conant with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Gracie Lisota, Emily Barrett, Ellie Molster, and Kristen Getz.

Meanwhile, Elk Grove had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Hawks. That's two games straight that Elk Grove have won by just one goal.

The victory made it two in a row for Hersey and bumps their season record up to 5-6-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored eight goals over those two contests. As for Elk Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

Hersey skirted past Elk Grove 3-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
